CLIFTON STATION

​Enjoy a swim in the fresh waters of the Maraetotara River, or venture down to the nearby Clifton beach for your dose of sea and salt. 

Fancy a walk?  Let your hosts Lucia and Tom point you in the direction of the best route to enjoy the view of Cape Kidnappers Cliffs. 

 

Or for those wanting to slow down, enjoy a couple’s massage in the spa at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers.

WINERIES

Hitting the wineries should be on the top of your list of things to do in Hakes bay.

The area is world renown for its prestigious wineries and we sure do love our wine. 

 

Within a five-minute drive or ten-minute bike into Te Awanga, you will find yourself on the doorstep of four world-class wineries. Talk to your hosts for their recommendations.

With our regions fine wines, also comes Hawkes Bay’s finest locally sourced food. 

 

From relaxed restaurants and eateries to fine dining experiences, it will be hard not to please your appetite. 

 

Whether it’s a quick trip to Havelock North or Napier for a meal, be sure to talk to your hosts to point you in the direction of what your appetite craves.

CAPE KIDNAPPERS

​Access to the famous Gannet Colony is located right on your doorstep. As the largest mainland colony in the Southern Hemisphere, guided tours leave daily from Clifton. Or find those walking shoes and stroll along the beach to the base of the colony and venture up yourself.

 

Fancy a game of golf? Cape Kidnappers Golf course is ranked in the world’s top fifty and neighbours Clifton Station, you will be teeing-off quite literally on your doorstep.

CITY SIGHTS

Napier or Hastings? We say both; While Napier is the Art Deco capital of the world and is also home to the National Aquarium. Hastings prides itself on its Sunday Farmers market, the oldest farmers market in New Zealand and the best way to sample local produce.

CYCLE TRAILS

Feeling adventurous, Hawkes Bay’s cycling trails have always been a visitor favourite, with Clifton located at the start of the “Landscape trail”, what better way to explore.
